Back to Weekly Weigh-In
Back in the late winter and early spring, I had been posting a weekly post on how I was doing on losing my weight. I had gotten away from that towards the end of May as well as gotten away from eating healthier and exercising. Why did I get away from a healthier lifestyle? Did I just get too busy? No, I didn’t get too busy. I think it was more along the line of me getting too lazy! Since I have been told that I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, and now it is important for me to get healthy and get this weight off of me.
How am I going to do this? I have joined in with a group of ladies for a little challenge. We have challenged ourselves to lose 15 lbs by Christmas time. However, I have added 5 more pounds to this, because I have since gained a few lbs in the last week and I want to get below 200 before Christmas. How am I going to do this? I am going to start tracking my food for the day, drink my water and try to at least exercise for 30 minutes today.
How did I do today? I was able to eat 3 healthy meals during the day. I drank 108 ounces of water and walked around 6 blocks in town. I am really pleased with how my day went. I am looking forward to continuing this until I reach my goal.

Friends Visiting and a Trip to Waterrock Knob
But who can find a faithful man?
We had friends to come and stay with us for a couple of days. Friends that we have known for 15 years. What a wonderful couple and great kids that they have. We loved having them to visit and only wished that they could have stayed longer.
Friday, after the kids had played together for a bit, we went for a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway to a place called Waterrock Knob. They have a trail that you can hike up to the top of the mountain. The sign says that it is only a 1/2 mile from the bottom to the top. Oh. My. Goodness. What a trek it was! The kids were troupers and wanted to race to the top! However, the adults needed to take a slower pace. It was a wonderful trail and we were able to take some gorgeous pictures.
I am so glad that we got to visit with the Warren family. They are truly a joy to be around. I can’t wait until we are able to see them again.
I am posting a few pictures from our adventure. Enjoy!!
