Several Months and…
….A couple of days later, I am finally doing my weigh-in. Yes, I last posted about my journey to a healthier lifestyle back at the end of May. I have no excuse other than it has been a busy and hectic summer. Not only have we been busy, I have had some major flare-ups with my arthritis and fibromyalgia. On some days, the pain has been extremely hard to deal with. Since I was still have severe pain in my shoulder/neck/arm they sent me for another MRI and it showed a bulging disc in my neck. The good news to that is that it was not pushing on a nerve. Thankfully it isn’t herniated and I won’t need surgery at this time. So for now, I plan on getting massage therapy and possibly visiting a chiropractor. I will go back to see my doctor in 6 weeks to discuss how I have been doing and to see what other options I have if treatment is not working. I know all will be okay though, because God is in control. He will take care of me no matter what!
So, how have I been doing on the weight issue? Not as well as I would have liked to. I had set a goal for myself at the end of July and I did not meet that goal. While I am disappointed, I know I can pick right back up and get back on the bandwagon. I am determined to get this weight off of me and I will make it happen one day at a time. I am part of an awesome support group of ladies that is on the same journey that I am. We all weigh in once a week and e-mail everyone with our progress and stay in touch throughout the week for encouragement and prayer.
My goals for this week include drinking my water, making healthier food choices as well as watching how much I eat when I sit down. As for exercising, I am having to take it easy and just try to walk for the time being. I am wanting to add in some pilates as soon as I can. Hopefully this will be sooner rather than later!
I am very thankful to have such a wonderful family to support me in everything. They have been awesome in helping out with household work and cooking supper when I have not been able to. Yes, I do get down every now and then when I am unable to do something for my family, but I try to remember that God is in control. So, I will continue to praise God for everything that He has given me in my life.
