Nature Study Tuesday

Nature Study Tuesday

Every Tuesday, Peace Creek on the Prairie hosts “Nature Study Tuesday”. I thought I would take part today. Be sure to check back and see who links up with Peace Creek on the Prairie!

While we were enjoying our family time together last week, my youngest 2 saw this lizard and insisted I take pictures of it. We were standing about 10 feet above this lizard. I have honestly never seen a lizard this gold before. It looked beautiful sitting on the rock, in the sun waiting for water to splash on it. The lizard looked like it needed to cool off like we did!
So any suggestions on what kind or type of lizard this is? We are fixing to sit down and do a little research on this lizard. Hopefully we will be able to find out what kind it is and learn something new today!

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge-Numbers

L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge-Numbers

Last week I was chosen as one of the winners on the L.E.N.S. Photo challenge. Thank you Jenny for choosing me as one of the winners! It was definitely a surprise and an honor!
This weeks L.E.N.S. Photo Challenge is Numbers. So as I was going through my pictures from this last week, I kept asking myself, “what did we learn this week with numbers?” Then I saw this picture. This is steam engine No. 70, Cinderella that is new at Dollywood. Cinderella is a Baldwin coal-fired steam train built in 1939. This engine was used in Alaska during World War II, transporting troops and lumber. Cinderella is new at Dollywood this year and has just recently began taking guests on a 5 mile journey around the theme park. I hope you enjoy this little piece of history as much we did!
