Weekly Weigh-In

It was rough, but I made it through another week. I didn’t keep track on my food, my water OR my exercise. I was just trying to get through the week. I was just really busy with the kids, their schooling and activities, as well as with homeschool group activities.

I was really surprised and happy that not only had I lost the weight I had gained the previous week, but I also lost 2 more lbs. Day by day, prayer by prayer I am getting to where I need to be.

I will be starting over this week with tracking my food, my water and my exercise. I will be taking it day by day. I know with all the love and support I have, I will make it. I will get to my goal weight.

I keep telling myself over and over, “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!”

You can too!

My Mother’s Day

My Mother’s Day

I have had a wonderful Mother’s Day. We woke up early and Michael, my oldest cooked breakfast and we went to church. We had a wonderful church service that was dedicated to all the mothers. We then came home and had a great lunch cooked by my best friend, my husband, Buddy. The kids then set the table and cleaned up once we were finished.

After resting for a few minutes, Michael got a call asking him to come into work. We took him into work and then headed to one of my favorite places, the Blue Ridge Parkway. We road from Balsam Mountain up to Waterrock Knob to Cherokee taking pictures along the way. Once we made it to Cherokee, we then took a right and road into the Great Smoky Mountain Park. We road up to Newfound Gap and headed back home. The views God blessed us with today were absolutely gorgeous!!!

Below are a just a few of the many pictures we took. To see the rest of the pictures you can go here.
Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I do! 🙂

A field trip to Fontana Dam/Lake

A field trip to Fontana Dam/Lake

Several years ago, we went for a long Sunday afternoon drive. We rode farther west, to Fontana Dam/Lake area. The drive is just gorgeous.

Fontana Dam is the highest concrete dam (480ft) in the Eastern United States. A the time it was built, it was the 4th tallest in the world. The dam impounds the Little Tennessee River and forms Fontana Lake.

The dam is operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. They also run a visitor center at the dam and tell the story of how the dam was built.

You can also boat and fish on Fontana Lake and get access from the lake to remote areas of the park.

While I could not find pictures of the dam, I did find some beautiful pictures of the Lake.
