Calico Canyon (Lassoed in Texas #2) Calico Canyon by Mary Connealy

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Mary Connealy has done it again! After I finished reading the first book in this series (Petticoat Ranch), I didn’t think it could get any better. However this book was just as good as the first one! I just loved the character of Grace. She did her best to be brave to do things on her own. However, God had other plans for her (and with a little help) is thrown together with a man and a handful of boys! Not only does Grace have to learn to fully rely on God, so does the rest of the family! Definitely a must read! I can’t wait to begin on the 3rd and final book in this series!

Weekly Weigh-In

What a wonderful week we had. We had gorgeous weather and was able to get outside a lot during the week. We even got to go to the park on Friday so the kids could play with some friends.

I also had a pretty good week with food and exercise. I am still drinking my water and counting my calories. We are also making sure we eat more vegetables during the day and at supper.

I was able to drop 2.5 lbs this last week. I also lost 4.5 more inches. I am so excited! This is truly a lifestyle change and it is so good when the family joins in with you!

So, to this date, (even going back 2 years ago when I started out at 255), I am down to 223.5. That is a loss of 31.5 lbs. I have also lost a total of 14.5 inches.

I am truly excited about this. Not only am I feeling better, my clothes are fitting me better!

I am thanking God daily for giving me the strength to continue with this lifestyle change!

Easter 2010

Easter 2010

It was such a beautiful day today. We had a wonderful time celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. We went to church to worship and praise God for giving us HIS son so that we may have eternal life with HIM. I just love being at a great worship service when everyone is singing praises to our God. Such a blessing!

Once we got him from church, we started cooking our Easter dinner. We opted to not have a traditional dinner with ham this year. Since we have had such beautiful weather, we decided to fire up the grill. Buddy grilled chicken and pork chops, while I got started cooking the squash, corn on the cob, green beans w/ potatoes and rice. It was definitely a wonderful meal.

Once we finished cleaning up from lunch, Michael hid the eggs for Sarah, Samuel and Claire. They had a wonderful time trying to find all 36 eggs. They would race around the yard trying to find the eggs before each other. Inside some of the eggs were goodies that they got to enjoy once they found them all.

We then came back inside and decided to have a time of rest. The little ones took naps, while us older ones read quietly. Once nap-time was finished, they got the eggs out and decides to share with each other what they had found. I am so blessed with such gracious children.

As the day is turning into night, we have had some of the Impossible Pie that I made for dessert. This was my grandma’s recipe that I helped her bake on many occasions during the holidays. A memory I will never forget.

Thank you Lord Jesus for blessing my family. YOU have been so good to us throughout the years. I am praying I can be as faithful to YOU as YOU have been to me.
