Our Christmas Tree

Our Christmas Tree

Everyone year, we always go to a Christmas Tree Farm to choose our tree. We started this tradition may years ago. We always try to go the weekend after Thanksgiving, but sometimes we are in Florida and unable to do that. However, this year we spent our Thanksgiving in NC and were able to go to a wonderful Christmas tree farm not far from our house. It is owned by a wonderful family that homeschools in Glenville, NC.

Seeing the kids run on the mountainside looking at all the different size of trees is such a wonderful sight! Looking at each tree, deciding if it is too big, too small, too fat or too skinny! It has to be the perfect tree! The kids never fail and always choose just the right one for our family.

When we get home from choosing the tree, we always get it in the tree stand and let it sit for a couple of hours so the branches settle. Buddy and I then will put the lights on the tree. Once that is done, the kids have the honor of putting the ornaments on the tree. The excitement on their faces is pure joy. The ornaments may not be perfectly spaced out or even all over the tree, but they are put on with love and that is all that matters to me.

It is always a wonderful family day and I will treasure each year we do this.

Update on Refrigerator…

Well after we sent an e-mail to a Consumerist website and several e-mails to Lowe’s Executives, we received a phone call late this afternoon from the Executive Service Center saying a check would be put in the mail tomorrow and over nighted to us. They also said they would be sending us a check for ruined food. So thank you all for your many prayers! I will be so glad to get a fridge that works properly!
