Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009

Once again we went to Florida for Christmas. Buddy and I were born and raised in North Central Florida, so all of our immediate family lives in that area. It is always nice going “home” to see everyone. We had a wonderful Christmas. The kids also had a blessed Christmas. The children were very blessed for all the gifts they received as well as Buddy and I. Our family means the world to us and I wouldn’t trade anything in the world for any of them. I am posting just a few pictures to show the exciting time everyone had…

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!

Wow! We missed the snow back in December and the kids were so disappointed. So when we found out that we were going to get snow this time, they got all excited. Some even got new snow boots for Christmas, so they were ready. It started snowing on Thursday afternoon and didn’t stop until the following morning. When we woke on Friday morning it was around 10 degrees. We also had about 2 inches on the ground! Talk about excited, the kids wanted to go out right then! We waited until around noon time when the temp was slightly warmer at 22. Everyone donned on their snow gear and out we went! The kids had a blast sledding on the hill by out house. They threw a few snow balls at each other, but the highlight of the outing was getting on the trampoline and jumping with the snow. They had a blast! Buddy got a lot of good pictures and I will post some soon! We came inside not long after that to warm up a little.

The day got a little interesting after that. It was around 4pm when the truck with the scraper came by. After they scraped, they sprayed some salt on the road. Not long after they had gone by, Buddy went out to check on the road to see if we would be able to get out. Well, next thing I know, I am hearing someone yell my name. Buddy slipped and fell on the icy road. When he did, he knocked himself out. He wasn’t out for long and was able to walk back to the house. He refused to let me take him to the doc to get checked out. He has a pretty big bump on his head and is very sore all over. The impact of him hitting the road was so hard that it knocked his glasses off his face about 6-7 feet away. Since he wouldn’t let me take him to the doctor, I have been keeping a very close eye on him. I think he will be okay, but man oh man, did he ever give me a scare!!

So overall, we have had a very exciting time with this snowfall! I am definitely looking forward to some warmer weather now!!
