Family Is Visiting!

We have family visiting us this week from Florida. We have a lot of fun plans. This evening, we will be going up to Waterrock Knob for a picnic and to watch the sun set. I am so excited! I love going up in the mountains.

We will be leaving bright and early tomorrow heading over to Pigeon Forge. The kids are excited about going to Dollywood. Even though we have been several times before, they never tire of it! There is so much to do there and something for everyone!

I will definitely post pictures later on! Until later!

Father’s Day

The kids signed a card for their daddy and a couple of the kids have even made him a home made card. They are so excited to be able to do something for their daddy on his special day. You can tell the kids really love their daddy. And why shouldn’t they! He is a wonderful daddy to them! He loves each of them unconditionally! He would give his life for each child if needed be! We do not really have special plans for the day. We will be going to church and then will come home and eat lunch. We will most likely just stay here at the house and just enjoy being with one another. I know that will be just fine for Buddy, because we will all be together and that is all that matters.

Father’s Day is difficult for me in some ways. I enjoy being able to help the kids celebrate the day for their dad. However, 2 years ago, a week after Father’s Day, I lost my dad to cancer. While I miss him a lot, I know he is with our Heavenly Father. His body is whole and he is pain free. So while I do miss talking with him daily, I know he is way better off in Heaven than here on this earth. Dad, just know that I love you and rejoice knowing that one day I will see you again. I love you!!

And Buddy, thank you for being a wonderful father to our children. You are the greatest and we love you so much!

I also do not want to every forget our Heavenly Father! He sacrificed so much for us by giving us his only son! Thank you!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!

Summer Is Here!

WOW! Hard to believe that summer is actually here! We have so much planned that I know it is going to go by quickly. We are still working on school. However, it is less formal and mostly just to keep it fresh in our minds.

Grandma and 2 Aunts will be visiting us this next week. We have a lot of fun activities planned with them. One is to go to Dollywood. The kids are so excited! They love it when family comes to visit! We always have a wonderful time with them and hate to see them leave. I will post pictures after they leave.

Then, in July we will be heading to Florida to visit with family and friends. Buddy will be having his 20 year class reunion during this time. He will get to see classmates that he hasn’t seen in 20 years! We are looking forward to catching up with old friends. We will also be visiting with great great grandma and great grandma as well as many other family members. Even though it will be HOT, we are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Once we get back from Florida, we will be preparing for our homeschool conference that we are helping out with. That will be on August 8th in Franklin, NC. Once that is over it will be time to begin our new school year!!

WOW! Writing everything down that we will be doing is making me tired! Definitely will be busy this summer. I think I will be ready to start school just to slow down!!

How will you all be spending your summertime?
