Sarah and Claire’s room..before AND after

Sarah and Claire’s room..before AND after

I started this project probably 3 weeks ago. My daughters room was horrible!! I have learned that it is very hard for a 12 year old and 4 year old to share a bedroom. You can tell by the pictures below just how bad it can get. I had finally had enough (usually go through this 3-4 times a year) and said it was time to do the overhaul. So I figured I would post before and after pictures. What better incentive to keep the room cleaned, than being threatened to post pictures of it on here!

I must say though, that it is hard to keep this room cleaned. Not only does she share it with a 4 year old, all the kids toys are in here as well. You see, this is the bigger of the 2 kids’ bedrooms. So, not only does she have toys from herself and the 4 year old, she also has toys that belong to her 5 year old brother.

I can finally say we are now finished cleaning the room. Below are pictures of what we started with. Yes, I am embarrassed and ashamed that I allowed it to get this bad. My children are definitely old enough to clean up and out their belongings in their proper places.

Below are before pictures.

Pretty bad, isn’t it! Yes, it is very bad. I will definitely be more diligent in keeping on the kids to keep it clean like we have it now. If they pick up after themselves every time they take something out and right before they go to bed, it should stay clean.

Below are pictures of the finished room.

I decided to head on over to my neighbors yard today to take more pictures of her azaleas. Oh my! They took my breath away! Her flowers are just gorgeous!! Here are a few of the pictures I took. You can also go here to check out more of my pictures from the day. Enjoy!!

Fifths Disease

Fifths Disease

Have you ever heard of it? Well, I have and it has come to our family once again. Many years ago when our oldest was just a baby, he was diagnosed with it. Now, almost 17 years later, my 4 year old has been diagnosed with it.

Well, you ask, what is it? Here is a quote from kidshealth.org, “Especially common in kids between the ages of 5 and 15, fifth disease typically produces a distinctive red rash on the face that makes the child appear to have a “slapped cheek.” The rash then spreads to the trunk, arms, and legs. Fifth disease is actually just a viral illness that most kids recover from quickly and without complications.”

So, while it isn’t a bad disease, it is a nuisance of one. We have spent the day at home, just hanging out and taking it easy.

As you can tell, Claire still has the “slapped cheek” look. Hopefully the symptoms will be over soon and not look like we have slapped our child! LOL
