Sugar Cookies

Sugar Cookies

We had another snow/ice day today. So the kids and I made sugar cookies. Well, actually I made the dough yesterday and by the time the dough needed to set in the refridgerator, it was too late to start rolling it out. Anyhow, we got the dough out today. As you can tell, the kids had a blast. We never did make the icing, however, that did not stop the kids from eating them!

A Year With God – Book Review

A Year With God – Book Review

I was provided this book by Booksneeze.com to read and review.

A Year With God
Daily Readings And Reflections On God’s Own Son
Written by R.P. Nettelhorst

A quote at the beginning of this book really sums it up to me.
“The best of all is, God is with us.” (John Wesley)

This daily devotional book proves just that. R.P. Nettelhorst takes scripture from the Old Testament and uses it to tackle problems that we struggle with daily. Topics like “Hope and Fear”, “Love and Hate”, to “Faith and Doubt” and “Mercy and Judgement”.

I love how he explains at the beginning what topic is and how they go together. R.P. Nettelhorst then lists the scripture first and explains how it applies to our every day life.

What I do struggle with in the book is the versions of scripture he uses. Nettelhorst uses several different ones throughout the book. However, I enjoy reading the New King James Version and would take the time to look the scripture up in my bible. I found myself reading this several times a day, or whenever I came across a problem.

Overall, I think it is a really nice devotional and I would recommend it to others to read.
